Waterproofing of drinking water tanks
Waterproofing of drinking water tanks must first and foremost ensure the watertightness of the tank with treated water, as well as protect it against the intrusion of external waters. This is extremely important because we are dealing with water intended for consumption. The liquid membrane for waterproofing drinking water tanks is a certified product with appropriate certificates, thanks to which it can have constant contact with drinking water. All products undergo rigorous testing in accordance with applicable legal regulations and have PZH certificates. This product is 100% safe for humans and other living organisms. Waterproofing of drinking water tanks consists in their effective sealing so that no leaks occur. Effective waterproofing of drinking water tanks is the creation of a solid, durable and suitably flexible protective layer, breathable, allowing for the release of steam.
Waterproofing of drinking water tanks using innovative liquid waterproofing membranes
Waterproofing of drinking water tanks using polyurethane resins in the form of a liquid membrane has the following advantages and properties:
- precision in application to the surface of the drinking water tank;
- tightness of the coating to any leaks;
- homogeneous and seamless, jointless membrane;
- hydrophobic surface and resistant to hydrolysis;
- perfect adhesion to almost any surface;
- resistance to very large temperature fluctuations from -40 degrees to +90 degrees Celsius;
- high chemical resistance;
- solvent-free product;
- non-toxic and safe product;
- provides double protection of the concrete surface – i.e. classic insulation and deep insulation in the surface layer of concrete by creating insoluble crystalline structures;
- a wide range of colors of membrane layers to choose from.
The use of a liquid membrane for waterproofing drinking water tanks means not only the aforementioned resistance to atmospheric and thermal conditions, but also to cleaning agents. Thanks to the membrane layer, it is easy to keep the tank perfectly clean. Using a liquid membrane, you can also refresh the drinking water tank to gain the highest level of aesthetics and exceptional durability.
Waterproofing of drinking water tanks – three stages of waterproofing
The insulation of drinking water tanks must be carried out with particular precision.
It can be divided as follows:
- external waterproofing of tanks – insulation of the tank against groundwater pressure under hydrostatic pressure;
- internal waterproofing of tanks – it is important that the waterproofing does not affect the smell and taste of water, it is resistant to the development of fungi and bacteria, easy to clean, has a perfectly smooth surface, and is resistant to so-called soft water;
- additional sealing of thresholds.
